Over the past 60 years, the C-130H(NZ) Hercules has played an integral role for No. 40 Squadron of the Royal New Zealand Air Force. Known for its robust capabilities, the C-130H is used for transporting personnel, equipment, and vehicles to remote or austere locations. With its ability to take off and land on short or unprepared runways, the Hercules has played a key role in humanitarian aid, disaster relief, and peacekeeping missions around the globe. Its distinctive versatility and reliability have made it a cornerstone of New Zealand’s airlift operations for the past 6 decades. The Peregrine 40 Squadron LE celebrates this aircraft and the members of 40 Squadron who worked tirelessly to operate it, with 50 pieces available to purchase for members of 40 Squadron.

 

The precisely engineered case of the Peregrine is streamlined into a clean and functional shape. Black Diamond-Like Carbon coating (DLC) enhances scratch resistance, while a Viton™ gasket on the case back provides extra longevity, reducing service intervals. The 40 Squadron LE features the squadron’s badge, engraved into the display window.

On the front, the dial features bold numerals, thick batons, and a clear minute track, contrast and clarity are at the fore. The unmistakable front profile of the C-130H is painted in white, with ‘RNZAF’ and ‘C-130H 1965-2025’ below. The handset is inspired by the ‘Flieger’ watch from World War II. allowing for a generous application of Swiss Super-LumiNova paint.
